OUR APPROACH

SSAT/ISEE

For many students, the secondary school admissions tests – SSAT and ISEE – are some of the first long-form standardized tests taken outside of school. For this reason, the tests can be quite intimidating. After working with our tutors, we ensure that your child will feel more confident on test day and that you will see higher scores to match that confidence. We know these tests inside and out, and we offer proven strategies for immediate results. We also know that these tests can present significant pressure for young kids, so we strive to make test prep something that students will not dread – and may even become excited to pursue. In short, we guarantee higher scores through an approach meant to encourage students to be excited to achieve their goals.

Our tutors offer remote one-on-one lessons, discounted small-group classes, or a combination of these two formats. As with all of our services, we develop individualized learning plans to meet every student’s personal needs and schedules. We offer diagnostic tests to help decide which test, the SSAT or the ISEE, is best for your child’s learning style. We also administer practice tests that will be worked into your learning plan and can be taken at times of your choosing to offer added flexibility. Once a learning plan is developed, our tutors can help you in individual sections of the test or work through the entire test section by section from the beginning.

We encourage you to reach out to us to discuss your individual needs, at which point we can develop a personalized learning plan to ensure higher scores.

It’s Not Bragging if Others Say It

“Matt worked with our son in preparing him for the ACT. They built a great partnership and our son genuinely enjoyed working with Matt. Matt had the right level of being supportive and encouraging while also pushing for better results along the way. His style and approach resonated well. We have already recommended him to other friends of our and he is now about to start working with our daughter. There is a reason his moniker is “The Friendly Tutors”! :)”

Joe L., Parent – The Paideia School

“Matt was recommended to us by a friend. From the first meeting, he established a great working relationship with E. Matt was able to motivate, encourage and “gently nudge” E to want to prepare and do his best on the SAT. Matt’s ability to have E take ownership of the studying process proved to be a success when on first test, our son was able to bring his score up 290 points from his practice test! We have and will continue to recommend Matt to anyone looking for a test prep tutor.”

Meredith B., Parent – Midtown High School (Grady)

“Matt has been extremely helpful with studying for my SAT. He helped me improve in all aspects of the test. I would recommend him to anyone who is taking the SAT or ACT.”

Ethan B., Junior – Midtown High School (Grady)

“I have used other tutors before Matt for test prep, and I just wish I had found him earlier. He was a tremendous help, easy to get along with, and gave extremely helpful explanations. I highly recommend!!!”

Nicole P., Senior – Marist School

“From since I was little, I’ve hated math and science. I knew that when I was going to take the ACT, it was going to be a struggle to get these scores up. I worked with Matt for about a month and a half during the summer, and not only did I begin to enjoy math and science more, but he helped get my scores up tremendously. My math score increased by 11 points, and my science score by 7. Overall, he was able to help me get my ACT score up by 10 points all together from when I took the pre-ACT my sophomore year. He was a tremendous help and will help you reach your goals!!”

Zoe G., Junior – Woodward Academy

How Individualized Education Can Boost Confidence and Inspire a Love of Learning

By |July 4th, 2022|Education|

A student's lack of confidence often has less to do with their actual abilities than with being taught in a way that does not match their individual learning style. Private tutors can adapt their teaching styles to the needs of individual students, thereby boosting confidence and even inspiring a new love of learning.
